About Us

Our Story

One small change when buying your household products really can make one big difference. is an equal opportunities employer which manufactures toiletry and home cleaning products. Its goal is to make a difference to the lives of visually impaired people and those with multiple disabilities, by providing training and employment opportunities throughout the manufacturing process. Rather than being segregated, those who join this vibrant and modern training scheme see CLARITY as a stepping stone from previous long term unemployment to proven ability in open industry.

Everyone can help create employment opportunities at CLARITY, simply by purchasing the sort of things you would buy anyway, but buy them from us by contacting us at our phone number and make a real difference. Dating back to 1854 when founder Miss Elizabeth Gilbert, blind herself, opened the first workshop. It employed 7 blind people to make baskets, but the demand for both jobs and products increased and CLARITY has grown from wickerwork to mattress making to toiletry and cleaning products. Support and advocacy for the organisation has come from many famous contemporaries such as Queen Victoria, Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill and, more recently, Joanna Lumley and Stephen Fry.
